Introducing CorMission

Hi, everyone! I am Marisa Conners, a fashion-loving entrepreneur, designer, blogger, and disability advocate living with cerebral palsy. I am also a Remote Blog Intern for CorMission.

From my first conversations with the CorMission team, I knew this was a special place. As someone passionate about inclusion and empowerment, I’ve seen just how life-changing it can be when people of all abilities are given the space to thrive. CorMission isn’t just another organization — it’s a community where everyone is celebrated for exactly who they are.

I’ve witnessed the difference it makes when someone with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) is given the opportunity to work, express themselves, and feel like they truly belong. You can see it in their confidence, their pride, and their smiles. That’s what CorMission is all about: dignity, independence, and belonging.

Let Me Show You Around

Here is a peek into the incredible programs and projects happening at CorMission:

  • CorTees - a T-shirt printing company that is doing more than making cool merchandise. It’s providing paid job opportunities and hands-on training for individuals with IDD. Screen printing, embroidery, and direct-to-garment are offered. CorTees blends quality with purpose.

  • Bloc Coffee/CorMission Coffee Shop - This is more than a place to grab a cup of coffee. A great community place to connect, enjoy good food (I love how delicious it is!), and have meaningful conversations. It also offers meaningful jobs for individuals with IDD who greet customers with a smile and a positive attitude every single day.

  • Community Services - CorMission partners with local businesses and schools to provide resources to those in need.

  • Recreational Therapy - This program focuses on building confidence, connection, and life skills in a fun and accessible way. Each year, we assist with the musical productions on Metzcor’s Campus with the goal of bringing theater to individuals of all abilities.

  • Special Events - CorMission events are all about self-expression, social connection, and fun. Each year, we host a themed dance that brings individuals from our community together to make meaningful connections. If you’ve ever been to one, you know how much fun they can be!
