Fencing, Gardening & Growing: How a Garden Reflects Life

There is something beautiful about watching a garden come to life. It starts with an empty space, a little vision, and a whole lot of hope. Then, little by little, something begins to grow.

That is exactly what is happening at CorMission.

Our garden development is becoming so much more than a landscaping project. It is becoming a place where people can gather, learn, work, create, and simply enjoy being part of their community. And in many ways, the garden itself is a reflection of life.

A garden needs care, patience, water, sunlight, and love. So do we.

Some days bring sunshine and beautiful growth. Other days bring clouds, challenges, and unexpected obstacles. But just like a garden, we keep growing. Sometimes, you just have to create your own sunshine.

A Fence Can Be More Than a Fence

One of the most exciting parts of watching this project take shape has been seeing the fence and landscaping come together.

At first glance, a fence may seem like a simple structure. But this fence represents so much more. It gives the garden definition and creates a safe, welcoming space where people can gather and participate. It helps turn an open piece of property into a place with purpose.

And then comes the landscaping.

The plants, flowers, greenery, and natural elements add warmth and beauty, transforming the space into an environment that feels inviting and alive. Together, the fencing and landscaping are creating something intentional—a place where people will want to spend time.

This isn't simply a garden surrounded by a fence. It's the beginning of a space filled with possibilities.

Growing Through Community Support

Bringing a project like this to life takes a community.

Hughes Construction was contracted to install the fence, helping turn our vision into something we can see, touch, and enjoy. The donation for the fence was made possible through The Perfection Group, whose support helped provide an important foundation for this project.

The McCloy Foundation also provided support for the garden and our upcoming greenhouse.

We are incredibly grateful for these partnerships. Their generosity is a reminder that when organizations, businesses, foundations, and community members invest in people and possibilities, something much bigger can grow.

And We're Just Getting Started

The next exciting chapter is already on the horizon: the greenhouse.

The greenhouse will create even more opportunities for gardening, learning, hands-on experiences, and growth throughout the year. It will be a place where individuals can learn new skills, take pride in their work, and watch something they helped plant grow right before their eyes.

And perhaps that is the most meaningful part of this entire project.

We aren't just growing flowers, plants, and vegetables.

We're growing opportunities. We're growing confidence. We're growing connections. And we're growing a stronger sense of community.

A garden doesn't become beautiful overnight. It takes time, care, patience, and many helping hands.

The same is true of building a community.

We are excited to watch this garden grow—and even more excited to see the people, memories, friendships, and opportunities that will grow alongside it.

Flower Stand on My Family Deck 

Sometimes, life feels like a garden after a storm. There may be broken branches, fallen petals, or plants that need extra care. But with patience and dedication, new growth can appear.

As this Cincinnati garden continues to grow—with its new fencing, landscaping, flowers, and future greenhouse—I am reminded of an important lesson: keep watering what you want to grow. Whether it is a garden, a dream, a relationship, or a new chapter in life, give it love and care.

And on the days when the sun does not seem to be shining, remember: sometimes you just have to create your own sunshine.
